Robert J. Dennis
Mr. Dennis, a 30-year retail veteran, is currently Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Genesco, a publicly-traded specialty retailer of branded footwear. Mr. Dennis joined Genesco as a Senior Vice President following the acquisition of Hat World, Inc., owner of Lids, the Nation’s largest retailer of athletic headwear and related accessories, where he served as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to Hat World, Mr. Dennis held a senior position with Asbury Automotive. Earlier in his career, he spent 14 years with McKinsey & Company, an international consulting firm, becoming a partner and a leader of the North American Retail Practice. In addition, Mr. Dennis serves on the Board of Directors of HCA Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: HCA) and Corrections Corporation of America (NYSE: CXW). He also serves on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville, the Nashville Symphony, and the Board of Visitors at Vanderbilt University’s Owen School of Management. Mr. Dennis earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master's degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Masters of Business Administration, with distinction, from the Harvard Business School.
