Home Organizers was the largest and fastest-growing designer, manufacturer, and installer of customized closets, organizing and storage systems, home office units, and related accessories in southern California. As the largest individual provider of these services in the country, Home Organizers enjoyed a business model with considerable scale advantage over its competitors. The overall custom organizer and storage industry in the United States was estimated to be $2.0 billion. The industry was characterized by hundreds of small, regional companies (typically franchisees of a handful of national franchise operators), which lacked the capital and marketing sophistication necessary to conduct operations on the same scale as Home Organizers.
