Kennedy-Western University (KWU) was one of the largest and fastest growing post-secondary distance learning schools in the United States. KWU served an active student population of over 10,100 working professionals, the majority of whom were seeking to earn Bachelors degrees in Engineering and Computer Science, Business Administration, and Health Administration. KWU focused on a large and growing student demographic: mid-career, working adults with little or no college experience or an associates (two year) degree. KWU’s average student was 44 years old and generally seeking a degree for personal satisfaction or career advancement. Approximately half of KWU’s students participated in tuition reimbursement programs offered by their employers, including GM, GE, 3M, HP, and Lucent, among others.
